Aquarius is the
eleventh Sign of the Zodiac, and Aquarians are the perfect representatives for the Age of
Aquarius. Those born under this Sign have the social conscience needed to carry us into
the new millennium. These folks are humanitarian, philanthropic and keenly interested in
making the world a better place.
The astrological symbol for Aquarius is a man pouring water,
the collective consciousness of mankind. As an idealist, they champion the highest
principles, while at the same time being an independent thinker. When confronted with
unreasonable authoritarian demands or dogmatic principles, to which they do not subscribe,
they rebel. They certainly resent being told to what to do, although they can be quite
co-operative when properly approached. Aquarians are naturally sceptical; they like to
test things for themselves, but, once convinced, become firm in their determination to see
things through. Anyone who wants to get on side with they need to see what must be done
and share the load without being asked.
Aquarians are some of the kindest, most helpful and friendly
people of the Zodiac. They have a happy knack of knowing when help is needed and will give
it freely without ulterior motives. However, although we may know them extremely well, if
we think seriously about it, they are in many ways extremely private people. This could
well be because of their need to be independent, and while having the capacity to give
much of themselves to others, they do not want to get too emotionally involved or find
themselves in a situation, which is at all cloying or heavy.
Aquarians derive their comfort from the company of others. As
a friend, few can boast to be as loyal and sympathetic as Aquarians are, but they can be
blind to their own needs sometimes. And although they are easy to befriend, these people
can be difficult to get to know. Despite this, Aquarians love meeting new people and
making new friends, and as a result, they are rarely lonely. Most people see these
individuals as a bit eccentrics, rather determined, and very stubborn. Aquarians are far
more intellectual than physical and they tend to relate to people on a mental level.
However, no one should doubt how important his or her friendships are to themselves.
Unfortunately it is often the case that a great many people
with this sign stressed in their birth-charts have considerable psychological difficulty
in relating intensely and in depth to other people. This is basically their powerful
inherent need for independence. To live with someone, or to marry them, must of necessity
mean that considerable independence is relinquished, and when it comes to a total
commitment, many Aquarians do not feel they can make what to them is a considerable
sacrifice.
Be
that as it may, but once into a relationship, they are open to all forms of
experimentation. Even though deep down they seek security, their love of originality and
exploring unusual new fields of endeavour gives them an attraction for partners with
interesting, unconventional. In relationships they might just attach themselves to their
first love. While they are involved with a partner, they are constant and faithful, and
like an active sex life.
