Virgo is the sixth Sign of the Zodiac,
to be exact, and that's the way Virgos like it: exacting. Virgos, more than any other
Sign, were born to serve, and it gives them great joy. They are also tailor-made for the
job, since they are industrious, methodical and efficient. The sense of duty borne by
these folks is considerable, and it ensures that they will always work for the greater
good.
Like the true virgin, most Virgos are shy and, like a virgin
waiting to give herself to the perfect lover, Virgo is also idealistic. Disappointment,
however, can harden them into a cynic and a skeptic. Virgo consequently becomes quite
critical with self as well as circumstances due to the effect of such disappointments on a
sensitive and discriminating nature.
Virgos like things done their own way, and they can be
nit-picky about even the smallest aspects of a given situation. Their friends, though they
find them to be a loyal and trustworthy person, find this habit incredibly annoying.
Although Virgos are good friends who will help others until their back breaks, they
often neglect their own needs. They are close to their friends but aren't very
"huggy" and don't like a whole lot of personal contact. They may search for a
long time to find a partner of whom they can approve, and quite a number of Virgos never
find anyone who meets their exacting standards.
Service-oriented Virgo seeks to improve the environment, by
pursuing careers in health-related fields, or in other structured areas such as teaching,
labour relations, or counseling. Intensely personal situations can be somewhat inhibiting,
but other circumstances can produce a very dynamic Virgo indeed. Virgins are assets in the
workplace as they can be counted on to get things rights the first time, every time -- and
no detail will be overlooked. They are also balanced and fair in their assessments in
keeping with the Mutable Quality assigned to this Sign.
Just as Virgoans are discriminating and critical in other
areas of life, so are they in personal relationships. They choose partners very carefully.
There is a natural modesty about any Virgo in love: "He/she will never take any
notice of me" tends to be the cry when Virgo is attracted to a new partner. They
make good parents, and are especially keen to develop their children's intellects.
In the
art of lovemaking, Virgo is a slow-burning fuse that, once properly ignited, leads to an
explosion of white heat which takes quite a while to cool down. They are however very
fastidious and critical of the personal habits of others, which can be a big turn-off and
prevent them from achieving a fulfilling relationship, or even participating at all in the
messy business of involvement.
Virgos
are unwilling to discuss their innermost feelings with anyone save a very trusted
confidante, so anyone who wishes to get to know them deeply must be prepared to persevere,
in which case they will prove a lifelong friend and ally.
