The Suit of Wands

The Wands archetypes are those of Fire and of Intuition. The nature of the wands is that of making plans for the future. This suit represents the element of fire. It symbolises energy, action and will-power. In ordinary playing cards it is shown as clubs. The main stress of the Wands include personality, self-image, careers, aspirations, sense of direction, purpose, inspiration, enthusiasm, and energy. Two of Wands: Signifies boldness and confidence. This represents giving and receiving of advice and shared success.

Three of Wands: In this card strength, initiative and exploration play a major role. The principle of leadership, primarily leading the way by one’s own example.

Four of Wands: It represents excitement, working in union and going towards a common goal.

Five of Wands: This is the card of fierce competition. This also denotes complications and competitiveness. Strife and quarrel are not very uncommon.

Six of Wands: It represents victory. Honour in work and fame is just another name of the sign.

Seven of Wands: It signals a mix of daring and caring, dealing with problems and action that is appropriate to problems. It talks about conviction and courage.

Eight of Wands: It represents the principle of life speeding up. New growth, quick action and fast life is life’s factors for the sign.

Nine of Wands: It represents endurance, persistence and a will to work. Here steadfastness and strength play a big role.

Ten of Wands: It represents burden. It tells you to expect success. Too much of restrictions, lead to life becoming stale. One often feels boughed down by the weight of life.

Page of Wands: It represents learning or travelling. There is a message around: be creative, enthusiastic, confident and encouraging.

Knight of Wands: It represents dynamic male energy. They are adventurous and hot-tempered. They are very impulsive and enthusiastic.

Queen of Wands: It portrays strong, energetic and charming women. They are emotional and creative as well. The kind who doesn't wait for things to happen to her but makes them happen herself.

King of Wands: These people are forceful leader, independent in their mind set and charismatic. This card represents a man of leadership and inspiration. He is replete with wisdom and is a mature man.
