HiFunda is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We develop and rapidly advance the technology readiness level of new materials and electrochemical technologies for efficient adoption into the defense, space and nuclear energy markets.

HiFunda follows an iterative process (Design, Build, Test and Analyze, Modify) for designing and developing new products and processes that meet form, fit, function, cost, and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) requirements:

Conceptualize (Design): Define specifications and draft solutions.
Prototype (Build): Construct physical and/or digital models.
Evaluate (Test and Analyze): Validate performance against core targets and models; Perform failure analyses.
Refine (Modify): Optimize the design based on data.

Paths to Market

Technologies developed at HiFunda are designed to reach the market through whichever route best matches the technology's scale, capital needs, and strategic fit.

We pursue three complementary paths:

Small-Volume Sales

For specialty materials, custom electrochemical components, and early-stage products, we manufacture and sell directly to customers in modest volumes, generating revenue while validating market demand and refining the technology.

Spin-Off Companies

When a technology is mature enough to warrant focused commercialization at scale, we launch it as an independent venture that raises its own capital and hires dedicated management to drive growth, leaving HiFunda free to continue advancing its core R&D mission. HiFunda has already spun out two ventures – Oscilla Power and Solution Spray Technologies.

Technology Licensing

For technologies best deployed through established players with existing manufacturing, distribution, or customer relationships, we license our intellectual property to strategic partners who can scale adoption faster than we could on our own.
